['muːvmənt], Gruppe englischer Dichter, die in den 1950er-Jahren mit betont antiromantischer, nüchtern-rationaler, formal traditioneller, an der Umgangssprache orientierter, oft ironischer Lyrik hervortraten. Zu ihnen gehörten u. a. K. Amis, D. Davie, D. J. Enright, E. Jennings, T. Gunn, T. Hughes, P. Larkin und J. Wain sowie Robert Conquest (* 1917); Letzterer gab die beiden »New lines« betitelten Anthologien (1956, 1963) heraus, die das Movement bekannt machten.
